Design Goals for the interior renovation of this Technical College:
Deinstitutionalize the space by adding curvilinear
design aspects with color, texture and pattern
added to walls, flooring, and ceilings.
Create a Community where students & professors
are comfortable in their environment. Corridor
seating, lounges, and a Cyber Café were
added to encourage students to stay, study, interact,
and relax.
Create Continuity, not only from a design
standpoint (repetition of color, etc.), but also
from a functional and maintenance point-of-view
(the same tile and carpeting is used throughout
the campus).
Present RCTC as a High Tech
Facility...not only does it look that way, but
it is that way.
Bring the building into the
next generation. No longer are the corridors dark
or the restrooms inadequate.
